Prayers and Guest Book
Throughout the Blogosphere and family, I’m always amazed at the people I come in contact with who want to wish us well, pray for Zoe and her parents and offer up their strength through kind words and gestures.
I’ve created this page as a place for you to write whatever you’d like for Zoe and her parents to read. You can be funny, silly, you can even suggest a fun site for us to visit while we wait (nothing says spending time like webkinz!)
Whatever you choose to say, we thank you. We appreciate your support, your prayers, and you just stopping in to say hi to us all.
Thank you and God Bless you,
Aunt Nikki

Hi Zoe – Just wanted to send you a little quick note tonight – I started coughing today & not really myself so I didn’t want to chance you getting anything if I’m getting a cold. I really think it’s cause I’m tired. I wanted to tell you that Uncle Justin called just a little bit ago & told me to tell you hi, & he hopes you get better real soon because he will see you in a month from now when he comes home for Christmas & he loves you. We didn’t get to talk much more because he had to get in Formation – Uncle Justin was a ’soldier’ on Halloween night but he said he didn’t get any candy – just halls cough drops & they weren’t very good.
I love you sweetheart – lots of hugs, kisses from Nana, Grandpa Joe, Nia, Nala & of course Maxi pooch! We’ll see you tomorrow night hopefully we’ll get out of work in time. Love Nana

Dearest Precious Zoe, I attend the Church of the Open Door. I have always been a believer thaat the power of prayer is a wonderful thing. We have several people who get together daily and pray for those who have requested prayer. I will pass this on today. Many people will be praying with all their hearts for you little angel. I have known your mommie and your Nana and your Grandpa for many years and love them with all my heart even if I don’t see them. I know this is a really difficult time for you and it is even harder when you can’t be home. You have wonderful Drs. where you are and they have taken care of other children just like you. God picks very special people to take care of little people just like you. You are a very strong little girl and the only job you have is to believe and be possitve. God loves you with all his heart and and a heart will find you. Think happy thoughts and remember all of us who are praying for you and love you dearly. I hope I will get to meet you. I will keep in touch. I wondered what kind of things do you enjoy doing? I would really love to get something special for you. Gayle and Family
Hey zoe do remember today when we talked about Kalahari. Well when I picked Uncle Dereck up from school today I told him your request. Remember I told you he won 10 tickets to Kalahari. He said no problem. We won’t be going until you are home form the hospital and well enough to go. He is going to make your wish come true. Hope that makes you feel a little bit better. Get some rest girl, go easy on those ice chips, and get better.
Love Papa and Sherry

I pray that the surgeons will quickly and skillfully be able to replace Zoe’s heart and that all will be well. God is in control and we pray his will be done. I pray for sweet Zoe and the family and that God will be with you during these difficult times– Papa Charlie
Thanks Zoe for sharing with me that unforgetable “toothless smile” and the other “deer in the headlights” look on photo day. Job is proudly wearing that one in button form. Its a special edition. Did you know that both you and Job have been given a special gift from God. And that gift is your smile and personality. SO, in order to help Mom and Dad out during your stay in the hospital PLEASE give them at least 1 per day. Job would love to come up and bring all his germs to see you, but we understand we will have to wait a little while. So we will see you soon! Remember Jesus is always with you and that He loves you, Mom and your Dad Love, Mathias, Job, Mr. and Mrs Butcher.
Hi Zoe – just wanted to stop & say hi – hope you’re being a good little girl & we’ll try to see you soon. I wrote a note to you yesterday but something happened & I think it was deleted – because it seems to be missing. My computer is working better & I saw that it was submitted ok – mistry to me…anyway – Grandpa & I love you & will try to see you soon.
Love, kisses & hugs
Always your Nana
Zoe,
You probably don’t know me personally but we are related. I am your mom’s cousin so that makes us second cousins! You looked really pretty at your grandpa’s wedding. Until I heard about your heart this fall, I never knew you had problems when you were a baby. You were strong enough as a baby, so I’m sure that you have enough strength to keep going until you get a new heart! Your website looks really nice. I just got the flyer for your benefit dinner in my e-mail. Uncle Mark sent it to me. We plan to come and invite as many people as we can so we can earn as much as possible for you. Here’s a riddle for you to think about: What do you get when you cross a snowman with a wolf? (frostbite) Hope you are keeping warm inside, cus it’s getting cold outside. I’ll be back for another riddle to challenge you.
Your 2nd cuz, Rebecca

Just wanted to let you all know that we have been praying for you. Zoe, I miss saying hi to you in the hallways and I miss your great big smile!!!
The entire third and fourth grade class has also been praying for you and miss you a bunch! We hope you liked the HUGE card we sent to you. That was a neat idea Mrs. Kime had. Gabe, I know this must be hard to see your little sister like this. Pray hard, Gabe. Don’t lose faith. Zoe, be brave, sweetie. The Bible says that you CAN do all things through Christ who gives YOU strength. Mom and Dad, may you find peace in all of this. God’s peace. My prayer is that you will sense His Spirit about you as you lean on Him for direction, strength and peace. Love to all. If you ever just need to talk, call me.

Dear Zoe. We are friends of so many of these people we have just read on this site. We used to live there, but we are now far far away in Missouri. But we are as close to God here, as you all are there…God’s wonderful world.
So, we say Hello, and have been praying for you. It is so neat to be able to pray from far away. We have looked forward to any news about you.
So, we hope the next news we read is that you have a new heart, and on the mend, going home very soon. If I were there, and when it was time, I’d get you something special off that Christmas list of yours.
Roger and Judie Helmick of Missouri

Hi Zoe. A friend just emailed me and told me to go your site. I read about all about you. Wow – Your courage and bravery is incredible.
My stepdaughter is named Zoe too. She is 11 years old, and was diagnosed with leukemia when she was 9. She has great doctors like you, and is now doing really well!
You have lots of people all over the world praying for you and your family, and we know that God hears all our prayers!
Keep smiling your beautiful smile.
Many blessings,
Mary
Zoe –
Prayers for you and your family from here in Texas. I heard about you on Twitter. I’m afraid I can’t donate to your cause – all my spare cash is going to our vet right now because my dog Zorro has heart problems as well. He’s a fighter, though, and I’m betting you are too.
(I’ll happily post a link to this blog on my blog if your Aunt Nicki says it’s okay, though.)
Sending prayers and blessings your way. May you have renewed strength and peace each and every day. I’m from Idaho.
Love,
The Stoddard Family
To Zoe and all your family may you keep hope in your hearts
God bless
Lee

Dear Zoe and family , Its ok to have bad days, But always remember , Psalms 46:1 “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.” The Butcher family has relied on this passage for some time. Also in verse 10 same chapter “Be still and know that I am God”. Medicine for today from Gods word. Mathias your “reading buddy” and Job aka “Spike” classmate wish you a great day. Love Mr. and Mrs. Butcher

My Dearest Zoe,
I canโt even begin to tell you how much you have touched my life. You are so incredibly brave and strong. I miss seeing your adorable face all the time. I canโt wait until you can make us all laugh again with your hysterically funny personality. There are many reasons I am happy I met your dad and you are certainly one of them. I am so blessed to have such an amazing little girl in my life!
All of my employees at Lorain Applebeeโs ask about you everyday. They are all praying for you and miss seeing you come in with your dad and Gabe, as you have left an impact on them and have made many friends there. I canโt wait for the day when I see you walk in again to visit me at work, run to me from the front door and I can pick you up and hold you like I used to.
I love you, Zoe. And I pray for you, your dad, your mom, Gabe, and your grandparents continuously all day. I would give anything to make you better.
You are my Sunshine.
Diane

Chrissy,
Don’t ever think that you are boring us with your blogs. We are unable to be there with Zoe so every blog keeps us informed as to how Zoe and all of you are doing. We’re the ones that wish we could do more to help all of you. My classes (7th and 8th) are putting some stuff together for Zoe for when she gets home. We will continue to keep Zoe in our prayers. Have a good day.
Mr. C.
Zoe and family–
and we love the daily updates-we agree with Mr. Casbohm–they do not bore us in the least! Job is missing his “partner in crime” at school-and we continue to pray for God’s will. Can’t wait until the day we see those little blond pigtails bouncing in the halls again!
Just wanted to let you know that Job’s Grandpa Schritz in Montana is praying hard for all of you, and his church family at First Baptist Church, Columbia Falls, Montana is praying also. It is wonderful to know that we can go boldly before God’s throne with our requests, and that His peace and joy comforts us in these times of trials. We all feel like Zoe is part of the family
Love, Job’s Mommy
Hey Zoe =]

Love, Kara*
Good Morning Zoe – just had a little chat with mom…we both are in areement that you are a strong, stubborn, little girl who is also very beautiful & very special to mom. Don’t you dare give up….you keep fighting, ‘Don’t’ loose that little attitude you can get when things are just ‘the way you would like it’ because right now – I’m sure you aren’t liking this part so well. So, you get the rest you need right now because it’s going to be a long, hard road…but Zoe Honey Baby – the ones that know you, the ones that love you & the ones that are here for you….know you can beat this thing!! I love you sweetie girl…I will see you tomorrow. Tonight is going to be for you!
Love, Kisses, Hugs ‘whole biggie bunch’

Dear Little Zoe…
Just another short message from Michigan to say that I have been thinking of you and reading about your progress. Im sending you big *hugs* from my son Roan, and lots of prayers from me. I just know you will get that new heart real soon…:)
Good Morning, darling
I hope that you are doing well today ….I know you had a little issue with your ‘bp’ last night & the good Dr’s are right there with you fixing you up to make you better. I think our little ‘benefit’ for you last night went pretty good. Gabe has a T shirt that he wore last night with your name on it & was at ‘your party’ too. He called it your ‘party’. He wrote you a little note & mommy will be able to read you the little notes that some of the people sent you last night. Sandy is right…. you have so, so many arms hugging you right now that it’s just awesome! Some of my friends & co-workers were there last night to help out & I think that was pretty nice too. Of course they have all seen your picture for those that haven’t met you ‘yet’ & they all are in agreement with me….you are ‘Beautiful & Adorable’ – who wouldn’t want to help you! Grandpa & I will see you soon ….lots of love sweetie…get some rest …..love Nana
We pray for your family every day! We can’t wait to see Zoe back at school. We pray you will get your new heart soon. God loves you and so do we and everybody at school! Get well soon!
Hi Zoe, just wanted to say I’m thinking about you and miss you. Mr. Williams (from school) and his family was at my house yesterday and they were saying how cute you were; they saw your picture on my refridgerator. We are all praying for you to get your new heart, so hang in there. I bet your teeth are growing fast in the front. Are anymore getting wiggly? “Hi” to Zoe’s mom too!
Hi Zoe!!
I don’t know if you remember me, but I am a senior at First Baptist. Your joyful attitude is always a great encouragement to me whenever I see you. You are on my mind often, and I have said many prayers for you. I hope you can get back to school soon.
We haven’t met, at least I don’t think so. Like many at First Baptist of Elyria our family also is praying for your full recovery; whatever course that might take. Your courageous battle is inspiring to us all.
Good morning, Zoe!
When I was the “school nurse” at FBCS, your wonderful brother, Gabe, would often come say hi to me and at some point would tell me about his baby sister, Zoe! I’m sure he misses you LOTS and can’t wait until he can play with you again. We are all praying for you!
Good morning Zoe, My family continues to think and pray for you very often and we are praying for you today.
The Allbaugh Family
Hi Zoe, I subbed at school on Thursday and Friday, and I sure missed chatting with you at recess. I am praying that you will get your new heart soon so that I can see you and your great smile again at school. “Hi” Gabe! Take good care of your sister (and Mom and Dad). I also miss you and am praying for you.

Hi Zoe Honey,
Just wanted to give you a quick holler before Papa and I leave to see Uncle Justin. We are taking a video recorder to film the event for you. Stay strong while we are gone baby girl. Thinking of you always. Love Sherry
Hi Zoe, Gabe, Mom, and Dad!
I have your picture hanging on my computer monitor. Every day I look at your smiling face and pray that God will send you a new heart. My dad, Mr. Carroll, got a new heart in July. It was a miracle! I know that God can work miracles!! He has given my dad another opportunity to live for Jesus. I hope that when God gives you a new heart that you will live for Him too! He is the most important thing in our lives.
We miss you so much at school! You always talked to me whenever you saw me in the hallway. I can’t wait until you’re back!
Gabe, I miss you too! I hope you get to come back next year! You are such a sweetie! Keep living for Jesus!
Mom & Dad, if there’s anything we can do – please don’t hesitate to ask!! We are praying for God’s loving arms to surround you!
Mrs. Kime
Hi Zoe, my name is Megan and I work with your mom. Just wanted to let you know that I am thinking about you and you are in my prayers. You are a very strong girl and I wish you and your family all the best.
Dear Zoe,
But we wanted you to know, again, that we are praying for strength as you go through this difficulty. We are praying for peace and comfort through the Holy Spirit. And we are praying that God will make your heart whole and healthy again very soon — however He knows is best . I also want your mom and dad to know that we’re praying that this circumstance deepens their appreciation of what God the Father went through when He allowed His only Son, Jesus, to come to earth to die on the cross for mankind. He loved us so much, He let His Son’s heart be stopped for our eternities. Praise God that it didn’t stay stopped, though; He rose again the third day and is alive in Heaven right now, preparing to greet those who know Him as their Savior and Lord! Please stay strong in the Lord, and be of good courage.
I have chatted with you a couple of times at school activities, and I had the privilege of teaching your dad for three years at FBCS. I also have been blessed with six children, and when I look at them and think of how I would feel if one of them was in your position, I am humbled so much. I pray for you, your mom, and your dad (and your Grandpa and Grandma Tanner) daily — if not hourly. For some reason, when I’m folding clothes, you come to mind. With six kids, I fold a lot of clothes.
In Christ,
Judy Wilcox (for the whole gang)
Hi, Zoe! Just wanted to tell you how much we miss you at recess. We are inside most of the time now, so we don’t need a “door holder”, but as I look around at Laura and Mikaela and all the other first graders playing, I realize that you really have left a big “hole” in that class. You are very special to everyone who knows you. The girls and boys in your class and in Kindergarten really miss you when you’re not at school. We will be soooo happy when you finally come back to play at recess with us!!! Who will play Kitty Cat just the way your friend Laura likes to play (complete with the right kind of Kitty food) unless you come back?!? We are looking forward to the day when we get to claim God’s wonderful victory over your illness! We love you and miss you so much!
Mrs. Barbi
Dear Zoe,
I love you girl. I hope you get better soon. I really want to come see you. I hope to go get my flu shot soon so that I can but right this second I am not aloud. I wanted to say I love you again. I give you hugs and kisses. so xoxoxoxoxoxo.

Wow. Your family seems so determined to save your little princess. I admire your determination. I hope that she gets her happily ever after and realizes what a miracle she really is. Zoe is a beautiful girl who clearly has a lot of fight in her. That will take her far. I will be praying for YOUR will because God will give you the desires of your heart. I wish the best for you!

Dear Zoe,
I am Mackenzie’s mom and we have moved to Texas to study Spanish so that we can go to Chile to tell people about Jesus. Mackenzie is going to a new school and the kids in her class are praying for you. I see that tons of people are praying for you and I want you to know that almost every minute of the day, except when I am sleeping, I am silently begging God to keep you strong until your new heart is ready for you. I know that being in the hospital can be a drag, but just think of all the doctors and nurses who can learn about Jesus from you when you are feeling better. God has a purpose for all things and I am looking forward to seeing what He has planned for you.
Love,
Mrs. Niemeyer (remember when you were little and you used to call me Mrs. Memeyer, it always made me giggle)

Hi, just wanted to say we’re praying for you in Louisiana!!! My little girl was born with several heart defects and we’ve spent about 4 of her first 13 months in the hospital, so I know it can get very monotonous. We’ll stay posted through the website, and feel free to check out ours! Is your mailing address still the same at the hospital? Praying for your new heart and quick recovery, you look like a tough little lady so I know you’re gonna do great!!! God is on our side!
Good morning, Zoe,
Mr. Milam and I have been praying that you will get your new heart very soon. I read your webpage everyday so that I can pray for just the things that you need for that day. We miss you at school. I can’t wait until you are back. You always make my day when I would see you in the hallway – we always talk about how your day was going and I usually get a hug from you! I miss those hugs.
Chrissy and Mike – If there is anything that you need, please let me know. We are keeping Zoe in our thoughts and prayer at FBCS. She is a special young lady.
Love,
Mrs. Milam

hi zoe love you and praying for you
The Change of Hearts group in Cincinnati sent me your information in the event I can provide you with some support. My little girl received a heart transplant 8 years ago on December 23rd, 2000 the day after her first birthday, at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital, she waited nearly three months and was in grave condition when her heart arrived. I know all to well what you are going through, if talking to someone who has been there can help in any way please contact me directly at dawnwnr@gmail.com and I will give you my phone number if you would like to talk by phone. Dawn mother of Asia transplanted at age 1, 8 yrs post transplant.
Hello, I, too, went to school with Laura and Brad Ternes and happened upon this site. I sat here at work reading your little girl’s story and found myself fighting back tears. My heart goes out to her, and to you and your entire family. I know we are not supposed to ask “why” but JEEZ! My little girl was born at 24 weeks and weighed little more than 1lb, so I’m no stranger to intensive care life. Thankfully, our story had a happy ending and she is now 8. I just wanted to send some positive vibes your way and tell you to hang in there. I can tell by reading your blog that both you and Zoe are strong fighters…that makes all the difference in the world! I have to work the evening of the fundraiser but will visit the site frequently to check on Zoe and look for other events. Feel free to forward me info on other fundraisers to my email heidro3@yahoo.com.
Hi Zoe!
I’m just writing to let you know I’m praying that even now you are getting that new heart! I can’t wait for the day you pop into my classroom and say, “Hi,Miss Webster! I’m back!” Take care, Sweetie, we love you!
Miss Webster
My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. I am praying for a heart for Zoe.
Hey, Crissy, your dad just called me and told me they might have a heart for Zoe, I broke down in tears, and he also told me you would be updateing your web, so I can read about how this came about. I am SOOOOOOO HAPPY for Zoe, and please, I love her dearly, let me know of all the progress.
Is it true? I just read Gramma Carole’s post that they may have a heart for Zoe. My boys, Cameron and Ethan, and I just finished prayers at bedtime tonight asking God for a heart – once again. We pray often for you. I hope God is answering all our prayers soon and also that you’re comfortable, Zoe, while you wait. I hope the websites will be updated soon so we know if this news is true!!! Continue to be strong! Love, The Honis Family – Valerie, Kevin, Cameron & Ethan
Hi, Zoe and family!
I have worked in the school office over the past few years and have been praying for you guys, and tonight I am able to praise God that a new heart is on its way for you! I will be praying for her surgery and the recovery! Keep fighting, Zoe, and I can’t wait to see your smiling face around FBCS!

I can’t wait untill you get back to school
Just wanted to add to the excitement. I am the pastor at Chestnut Ridge Baptist Church in Elyria and you have several friends in our church family that have been keeping us up to date on Zoe’s condition. I have been following and praying in response to the reports on this site. We are so thankful that Zoe has finally got her heart. Know that we are still praying and will be here for the duration. If you need anything, just give us a call. I am praying specifically for good rest and uneventful recovery. We love you! Darrell Myers and the Chestnut Ridge Family
Zoe when you are older and all of this is behind us we will sit and tell stories of this night for a long long time to come. We will recant every detail of it and laugh about it. You are a fighter and I know you will continue to fight and before you know it you will be back to school and with your friends and family. We may never know who made the impossible decision to give up a piece of a loved one to make you whole, but to them we offer our heart felt thank yous, our tears, and our prayers. Knowing that it will never be enough to express the great act of kindness they have given. They have given us back our little Zoe and her puppy dog face to make us all smile.

Hello to all! I don’t know if Zoe will remember me but I was the student teacher at the YWCA when Zoe took dance classes. The minute Zoe walked in the door we could tell that she was a very special little girl. She is so full of life and energy, and she is the perfect little ballerina.
I am so happy and releaved for you all that Zoe has gotten her new heart. Zoe I hope to see you again soon. God Bless, and take care.
Christmas is truly the time of miracles and once has just happened!!! Zoe, I wish you a speedy recovery and a very long lifetime of happiness!!! I can’t tell you how thrilled I was to get the message that a heart had been found and you were doing well! I as well as all of the members of OPEIU Local 19 (your Grandma Sherrie’s union) are ecstatic! We know that you will certainly be having the Merriest of Christmases this year.
zoe hope you feel better now that you have your new heart
and chrissy you go girl after what you been through i know
its gonna get better with each passing day
We have been praying for Zoe at our church and I am so glad to hear that she got her heart in time for Christmas! I can relate. I had a double lung transplant on Christmas Eve of 1991 when I was 11 years old. I willl continue to pray for Zoe’s new heart and for her donor family.
Tara
My family and I will pray for your little girl. Stay Strong.
Good Morning Sweetheart….I was so very proud of you last night! I know it’s going to be hard for a while because you still have a long way to go. Keep blowing bubbles & don’t forget to cough once in awhile. Mommy I know will you & so will Daddy. We are truly fortunate that this miracle has happened. That some parent gave you the ‘gift’ of a new beginning. I hope that they will find comfort in some way that a piece of their loved is still alive in here in Ohio. Don’t you ever give up & don’t quit. Uncle Justin can’t wait to see you..maybe he will help you blow bubbles, too. Lots of love & hugs sweetie…Nana

This morning, Stephanie and I were at the computer and Mr. Kish walked up behind us and said, “Ya know, I never buy the paper but…..” Then he put the newspaper in between us and Stephanie and I both screamed…..”Zoe!!!!” We stopped everything and we read the article all about YOU!
Again, we are just so happy you got your heart and I am praying that “my song” I claimed for you … “I’ll be home for Christmas” will be true for you.
Do everything the doctors tell you to do and continue to be brave … you can do it, Sweetie!
Love,
Mrs. Kish
Dear Zoe and Chrissy,
Zoe you looked so good in the paper yesterday, our little princess. I can just hear you say “I know” and then turn those puppy dog eyes on us. And Chrissy when we walked into the hospital room Friday, from you I saw something that we had not seen in some time, that dynamic smile of yours. I cannot say how wonderful it was to see that it was back where it belongs. I will say that I could be doing the most mundane task and out of the blue, it will pop into my head the miracle our family has been given. I get a lump in my throat and then a huge grin crosses my face. I stop what I am doing and give thanks. (Which is about a hundred times a day). I hope that you have a speedy recovery Zoe. I love you both so much.
Sherry
Hi Sweetie
What a lovely story & how pretty you looked all freshened up & sleeping like an Angel in the Chronicle. You made ‘FRONT PAGE NEWS’!! That is just so awesome. Grandpa & I must have bought 6 papers yesterday. Gabe, Grandpa & I went to I Hop for breakfast & I told Grandpa to get a paper. He was just a grinin’ when he walked back over to Gabe & I. Gabe right away…can I have the picture to hang in my room..so…thats when we decided to buy more papers. Gabe has his own. One is for Uncle Justin & I have extra if anyone else would need one. Uncle Justin is sooo very happy for you! He misses you very much & he will be home soon..just another couple of weeks! When we went into the restaurant Gabe started telling everyone in the restaurant that was his little sister. Our waitress sat down to read all about you & cried. We can’t wait for you to get better & this summer when you it’s ok for you to go out in the public we’ll take you there so you can meet everyone. We’ll see you soon. We have things for your tree that Gabe made with Grandpa yesterday.
Love you, miss you, hugs & kisses

You hit the big time now girl!!! Fox 8 news!!! Dick Goddard says you have an awesome right hook. Papa recorded Channel 8 news for me because I was at work during your television debut. I saw the story on the computer before the news came on. You look like you are getting stronger everyday. Kelley and Kristi both watched at home and called as soon as it went off to tell me how pretty you looked. My friend Amy called and did a play by play for me. Did you enjoy the fruit rollups Papa and I brought you this morning. Yummy Yummy in your Tummy. Love ya our little T.V. Diva.

Hello Zoe Honey Baby!
Just wanted to stop & say Hi & Goodnite. I hear you are doing better everyday. I gave money to Mommy for some of your bracelets I sold at work & there are a few people that want me to get more. Grandpa went to the Dr today & he is starting to come down with a ‘bug’ & I was snezzing today too. So we are going to take a little break & see you this weekend. We don’t want to chance you getting sick in case we are contagious. The Dr thinks Grandpa is mostly allergies & sinus infection but still …no chances!!! Not for you precious. Uncle Justin sends his love tonight & will see you in just 10 days by the time your mommy can read this to you. I heard from a cousin of mine that I haven’t seen a very long time & he will be coming to your spaghetti benefit…miracles like you sweetheart bring out the best in some people that we somehow forget is there…you are my miracle & my Christmas…I could not want for more…it’s like I told someone very special tonite….I could have holes in both my shoes & wouldn’t ask for anything this year for Christmas because having you with me, with us…is Christmas enough to last me ..my lifetime…nothing else matters …just you being here with us & Uncle Justin coming home to share all of it with us.
Nite sweetie….love you Nana

Hi Zoe and family. I just found out about your heart transplant and felt so excited for all of you. I was one of your nurses at the EMH ER and you guys have been in my thoughts ever since you were first diagnosed. I am so glad that you have come so far. I will keep you in our prayers and let the rest of the staff in the ER know about your miracle! You are a special little girl! I bet this will be the best Christmas ever!
Zoe,
I have heard so much about you sweetie. I have a dear friend named KATIE who was one of the nurses on the PICU who took care of you. She was the one who told me about your website and I almost could not wait to see it. You and it are beautiful. I am so happy that you got your heart. You definitely deserved it. Katie, I think is one of the best nurses on that floor and talked so fondly about you. I think she misses taking care of you, but we all know now that you are much better off now. Anyways sweetie, I hope that you and your family have a very Merry Christmas and make sure that you leave SANTA lots of cookies and a big glass of milk. Congratulations again.
Love Tom.
Chrissy, Mike and Gabe- It has truly been a very long road and quite an adventure. You never gave up nor did you let anyone else give up either. It is difficult for famlies to go through such grief just sitting and waiting for a donor and when it comes……… you just can not express the emotions that follow. I have been in the medical field for over 30 yrs. and know how wonderful it is to see a life saved throgh this miracle! PLEASE, remember to have “ORGAN DONOR” put on the back of your drivers license. It is always asked when you renew it. Remember the agony of waiting as the Tanner family did. Just knowing you may save a life someday will bring joy to another family in need. I will continue to pray for all of you. Never take things like God, family and friends for granted. We have many blessings to be thankful for and we are thankful for the donor family. They have given “The gift of Life” and we are very thankful for the choice they made. Zoe will always have this little angel inside her, as she grows to be a healthy child given a chance to drive her parents crazy just like any other child. I am so sorry we will not be here to attend your dinner. I am buying tickets though. I have a gift for you too! I will see you when you are up to a visitor. Enjoy every day Zoe! Love Gayle and Criag
Dear Zoe: I teach those “old lady” exercises since I work in Physical Therapy. I know they are probably boring, but they really are important as is the walking! You do the best you can and it will get easier, so hang in there!
Have a good day. Love, Mrs. Nagy
Hi Zoe and family! Zoe, congratulations on your new heart! For those of you
who don’t know me, I’m a long-time friend of Bob Cornman.(We joined the
Navy together many years ago). Isn’t it amazing that Zoe at her age and
me at my age both received new hearts this year? I got mine May 13th.
I’ve been extremely blessed. My biopsy reports continue to show no rejection.
My doctors from UFShands Heart Transplant Center,Gainesville,Fl are really
leased with my progress so far. They seem to think I’ve done well because
I followed their instructions completely, especially in the area of doing all of
my exercises just like they asked of me. Keeping strong has a great deal to
do with being able to resist the stresses and strains that the body must suffer
from the trauma caused by the procedure, the meds and so on.
Zoe, I’m 65 years old, and haven’t a clue why I’m still here, or why this
wonderful event has happened to me, or why it has happened to you. But,
I do strongly feel that God had a reason for giving you and I this opportunity
to experience his love for us. May Jesus,His Father, and all of His angels,
keep you and I, and our families, in their strong and tender care during this
Christmas Season and throughout the rest of our lives as we continue to
show how well we can accept what God has given us to do.
With much love from one heart transplant patient to another.
Larry
Hi Zoe, We don’t know you but we went to school a long time ago with your Daddy. We pray that God will keep giving you and your family strength every day. Love James, Amie, Spencer, Tanner and Amelia.
My family had the chance to meet Zoe last Friday evening. We were at the fishtank on 4 with my niece when she came walking through those doors with her grandparents. Can I just say that she is such an inspiration.
To hear her story and see her was just amazing. Just a few short days after being in the OR and she was up and walking around. My entire family was just so inspired by her. Our thoughts and prayers are with you. Merry Christmas.

Merry Christmas Zoe!
We have been praying for you and are so glad to hear the you were able to go home for Christmas. I have heard many good things about the Ronald McDonald House so I will look forward to hear about the things that you did there when I see you. I am sorry that you have not been feeling well the past few days but I am sure Dr. Boyle will know what to do to have you feeling better soon. I am glad that Gabe is able to stay with you at the Ronald McDonald House. I am sure that you have had a great time together. Please say Hi to him and wish him a Merry Christmas from me.
We miss you and hope to see you very soon.
Love,
Mrs. Milam
Hi Zoe,
It was so neat to see you on TV! I then showed the video clip that your Mommy put on this site to my family. It brings tears to our eyes to see how God did a miracle in your little life. We are sooooooooooo thankful for you and how God allowed you to receive a heart that was just right for YOU!
I am looking forward to the day when I will see you in the hallway and be able to give you a great big hug.
Please tell everyone … hello … especially Gabe. We miss him at school, too!
-Mrs. Kish
WELCOME HOME ZOE HONEY BABY!! I was so excited to hear that you were released today! I had to turn around & tell the girls that were still there that you were on your way home – how wonderful!!!! Be extra careful around others ( I will see you next week after I’m over my little bug – I’m taking my medicine too so I can get better) & be extra careful in public. Someone may not be sick themselves – but they can still be a carrier of all kinds of little viruses which is probably what caused all this in the first place. You can’t live in a bubble because that wouldn’t be very much fun – but don’t let everyone get in your face as much as you love them – that will be hard….the tiniest of cough or sneezes could hurt you but not them…You are so special to everyone & I know we will all take care of you…lots of love, a whole lot of kisses & hugs…Nana
Hi Zoe and Chrissy. I missed you at the clinic on biopsy day. Please, get in touch with me. I miss you guys. And Zoe, my family saw you on tv. You looked so much better than Dr. Boyle. haha…….Miss you …..stay spunky little girl….Love ya
Hi Zoe,
Hi little one! Are you enjoying your time at home now? I bet you’re doing very well these days! It must be so nice to be away from all those medical devices and everyone coming in and checking on you around the clock. Sleeping in your own bed must be really special to you now! My boys are hoping you’ll be back in school soon – and I’m sure the rest of the kids are eagerly awaiting that day as well! Keep doing what your parents and the doctors tell you too so you can get stronger every day! Thank God for this new heart of yours and how He’s healing you so nicely! Take care, Zoe ~Love, Valerie, Cameron & Ethan Honis
Hi Zoe….
God Bless you sweetheart. You do not know me but my son knows of your situation from one of your nurse friends at the Clinic. I am a nurse too and word travels fast about our special “little” friends. May God continue to carry you and your family in the palm of His hand always….and I hope spring comes very quickly so that you can go outside and have lots and lots of fun. Take care and be well.
Claudia

Hello There Zoe!
Haven’t heard anything new from your family. I hope you’re doing well these days. I hope you’re growing stronger each and every day. How can we pray for you? What is it that you need?
Love,
Valerie, Kevin, Cameron & Ethan Honis
Dear Zoe,
It is so good to know another little girl with the same name! I am a 38 year old Zoe and my daughter is a 9 year old Zoe (we call her Zoanna). I just found out last month that I have heart failure. You are an inspiration to me! My whole family is praying for you, Zoe. When someone calls my name or my daughter’s name, I will think of you and my spirit will be in prayer for you. I thank God that He is the strength of your heart and that He is your fortress. It is by the stripes of Jesus Christ that we are healed.
Congratulations to your mommy! It is hard work to graduate. I was getting my masters degree and student teaching when I had to be put in the hospital and found out I had heart failure. I also graduated- Praise God! Please pray for my healing as well. I got my teaching degree to be able to pay for my kids to get braces on their teeth. I know your mommy is working hard to make a great life for you, too. I know you are proud of her.
I look forward to hearing about your progress. You will continue to be an inspiration for me and my Zoe.
With lots of love in Christ Jesus,
Zoe Owen
