Prayers and Guest Book

Throughout the Blogosphere and family, I’m always amazed at the people I come in contact with who want to wish us well, pray for Zoe and her parents and offer up their strength through kind words and gestures.

I’ve created this page as a place for you to write whatever you’d like for Zoe and her parents to read. You can be funny, silly, you can even suggest a fun site for us to visit while we wait (nothing says spending time like webkinz!)

Whatever you choose to say, we thank you. We appreciate your support, your prayers, and you just stopping in to say hi to us all.

Thank you and God Bless you,

Aunt Nikki

  1. Hi Zoe, Gabe, Mom, and Dad!

I have your picture hanging on my computer monitor. Every day I look at your smiling face and pray that God will send you a new heart. My dad, Mr. Carroll, got a new heart in July. It was a miracle! I know that God can work miracles!! He has given my dad another opportunity to live for Jesus. I hope that when God gives you a new heart that you will live for Him too! He is the most important thing in our lives.

We miss you so much at school! You always talked to me whenever you saw me in the hallway. I can’t wait until you’re back!

Gabe, I miss you too! I hope you get to come back next year! You are such a sweetie! Keep living for Jesus!

Mom & Dad, if there’s anything we can do – please don’t hesitate to ask!! We are praying for God’s loving arms to surround you!

  2. Hi Zoe, my name is Megan and I work with your mom. Just wanted to let you know that I am thinking about you and you are in my prayers. You are a very strong girl and I wish you and your family all the best.

  3. Dear Zoe,
I have chatted with you a couple of times at school activities, and I had the privilege of teaching your dad for three years at FBCS. I also have been blessed with six children, and when I look at them and think of how I would feel if one of them was in your position, I am humbled so much. I pray for you, your mom, and your dad (and your Grandpa and Grandma Tanner) daily — if not hourly. For some reason, when I’m folding clothes, you come to mind. With six kids, I fold a lot of clothes. 🙂 But we wanted you to know, again, that we are praying for strength as you go through this difficulty. We are praying for peace and comfort through the Holy Spirit. And we are praying that God will make your heart whole and healthy again very soon — however He knows is best . I also want your mom and dad to know that we’re praying that this circumstance deepens their appreciation of what God the Father went through when He allowed His only Son, Jesus, to come to earth to die on the cross for mankind. He loved us so much, He let His Son’s heart be stopped for our eternities. Praise God that it didn’t stay stopped, though; He rose again the third day and is alive in Heaven right now, preparing to greet those who know Him as their Savior and Lord! Please stay strong in the Lord, and be of good courage.

    In Christ,
Judy Wilcox (for the whole gang)

  4. Hi, Zoe! Just wanted to tell you how much we miss you at recess. We are inside most of the time now, so we don’t need a “door holder”, but as I look around at Laura and Mikaela and all the other first graders playing, I realize that you really have left a big “hole” in that class. You are very special to everyone who knows you. The girls and boys in your class and in Kindergarten really miss you when you’re not at school. We will be soooo happy when you finally come back to play at recess with us!!! Who will play Kitty Cat just the way your friend Laura likes to play (complete with the right kind of Kitty food) unless you come back?!? We are looking forward to the day when we get to claim God’s wonderful victory over your illness! We love you and miss you so much!

  6. Wow. Your family seems so determined to save your little princess. I admire your determination. I hope that she gets her happily ever after and realizes what a miracle she really is. Zoe is a beautiful girl who clearly has a lot of fight in her. That will take her far. I will be praying for YOUR will because God will give you the desires of your heart. I wish the best for you!

  9. Dear Zoe,

I am Mackenzie’s mom and we have moved to Texas to study Spanish so that we can go to Chile to tell people about Jesus. Mackenzie is going to a new school and the kids in her class are praying for you. I see that tons of people are praying for you and I want you to know that almost every minute of the day, except when I am sleeping, I am silently begging God to keep you strong until your new heart is ready for you. I know that being in the hospital can be a drag, but just think of all the doctors and nurses who can learn about Jesus from you when you are feeling better. God has a purpose for all things and I am looking forward to seeing what He has planned for you.
    Love,
Mrs. Niemeyer (remember when you were little and you used to call me Mrs. Memeyer, it always made me giggle)

  18. Hi, just wanted to say we’re praying for you in Louisiana!!! My little girl was born with several heart defects and we’ve spent about 4 of her first 13 months in the hospital, so I know it can get very monotonous. We’ll stay posted through the website, and feel free to check out ours! Is your mailing address still the same at the hospital? Praying for your new heart and quick recovery, you look like a tough little lady so I know you’re gonna do great!!! God is on our side!

    Good morning, Zoe,

Mr. Milam and I have been praying that you will get your new heart very soon. I read your webpage everyday so that I can pray for just the things that you need for that day. We miss you at school. I can’t wait until you are back. You always make my day when I would see you in the hallway – we always talk about how your day was going and I usually get a hug from you! I miss those hugs.
Chrissy and Mike – If there is anything that you need, please let me know. We are keeping Zoe in our thoughts and prayer at FBCS. She is a special young lady.

    Love,

    Mrs. Milam

  22. The Change of Hearts group in Cincinnati sent me your information in the event I can provide you with some support. My little girl received a heart transplant 8 years ago on December 23rd, 2000 the day after her first birthday, at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital, she waited nearly three months and was in grave condition when her heart arrived. I know all to well what you are going through, if talking to someone who has been there can help in any way please contact me directly at dawnwnr@gmail.com and I will give you my phone number if you would like to talk by phone. Dawn mother of Asia transplanted at age 1, 8 yrs post transplant.

  23. Hello, I, too, went to school with Laura and Brad Ternes and happened upon this site. I sat here at work reading your little girl’s story and found myself fighting back tears. My heart goes out to her, and to you and your entire family. I know we are not supposed to ask “why” but JEEZ! My little girl was born at 24 weeks and weighed little more than 1lb, so I’m no stranger to intensive care life. Thankfully, our story had a happy ending and she is now 8. I just wanted to send some positive vibes your way and tell you to hang in there. I can tell by reading your blog that both you and Zoe are strong fighters…that makes all the difference in the world! I have to work the evening of the fundraiser but will visit the site frequently to check on Zoe and look for other events. Feel free to forward me info on other fundraisers to my email heidro3@yahoo.com.

  24. Hi Zoe!

I’m just writing to let you know I’m praying that even now you are getting that new heart! I can’t wait for the day you pop into my classroom and say, “Hi,Miss Webster! I’m back!” Take care, Sweetie, we love you!

  27. Is it true? I just read Gramma Carole’s post that they may have a heart for Zoe. My boys, Cameron and Ethan, and I just finished prayers at bedtime tonight asking God for a heart – once again. We pray often for you. I hope God is answering all our prayers soon and also that you’re comfortable, Zoe, while you wait. I hope the websites will be updated soon so we know if this news is true!!! Continue to be strong! Love, The Honis Family – Valerie, Kevin, Cameron & Ethan

  39. Just wanted to add to the excitement. I am the pastor at Chestnut Ridge Baptist Church in Elyria and you have several friends in our church family that have been keeping us up to date on Zoe’s condition. I have been following and praying in response to the reports on this site. We are so thankful that Zoe has finally got her heart. Know that we are still praying and will be here for the duration. If you need anything, just give us a call. I am praying specifically for good rest and uneventful recovery. We love you! Darrell Myers and the Chestnut Ridge Family

  40. Zoe when you are older and all of this is behind us we will sit and tell stories of this night for a long long time to come. We will recant every detail of it and laugh about it. You are a fighter and I know you will continue to fight and before you know it you will be back to school and with your friends and family. We may never know who made the impossible decision to give up a piece of a loved one to make you whole, but to them we offer our heart felt thank yous, our tears, and our prayers. Knowing that it will never be enough to express the great act of kindness they have given. They have given us back our little Zoe and her puppy dog face to make us all smile.

  48. Good Morning Sweetheart….I was so very proud of you last night! I know it’s going to be hard for a while because you still have a long way to go. Keep blowing bubbles & don’t forget to cough once in awhile. Mommy I know will you & so will Daddy. We are truly fortunate that this miracle has happened. That some parent gave you the ‘gift’ of a new beginning. I hope that they will find comfort in some way that a piece of their loved is still alive in here in Ohio. Don’t you ever give up & don’t quit. Uncle Justin can’t wait to see you..maybe he will help you blow bubbles, too. Lots of love & hugs sweetie…Nana
